Good Ab Exercises To Get Rid Of Belly Fat For A Flatter Firmer Stomach.
Burning Calories
When exercising to get rid of belly fat you need to burn calories. You burn calories when you use energy. Exercising burns calories and building muscle helps you burn more calories throughout the day. If you burn enough calories you will have less body fat. There is no way to target specific areas. It comes off all over. So ab exercises like sit ups and crunches are not any better than other exercises for getting rid of belly fat. I can get rid of belly fat without working out my abs.
The fastest way to get rid of belly fat by exercising is to focus on exercises that will cause you to use up a lot of energy and build muscle. Jumping rope at a fast pace works much better for getting rid of belly fat than doing crunches. Think about how much energy you use up while doing the exercise and how many more calories you are going to burn later because of it. A lot of the ab exercises people do to get rid of belly fat are not very good for getting rid of belly fat. As a result they strengthen their ab muscles but they don't get rid of the fat.
Building Muscle
You can build muscle by doing challenging exercises. Push yourself to your limit and keep improving. With exercise you can target specific muscles. Some exercises work a lot of muscles and some focus on one or two. If you pay attention you should be able to feel the muscles that are doing most of the work but you may not be able to feel all the muscles you are using. When I do leg lifts I can feel the strain on my ab muscles right away. If I ride my bike I don't feel my abs working but I know it works my abs because of the results I get.
The easiest way to see if your abs are getting stronger is to flex your abs and push on your belly with your fingers. Another way is to do abdominal exercises that require strong abs and see how much you improved. Planks and L-sits are good exercises for building strong abs or testing your ab strength.
To do a plank you get in the push up position and hold up your body. To do an L-sit you sit with your legs out so your upper body and legs form an L. Then you lift your body up with your arms.
Good Ab Exercises For Fat Loss
The intense cardio exercises and bodyweight exercises I do are both good for getting rid of fat and strengthening the abs. I recommend you include both types of exercise in your exercise routine. They go well together. When I was getting rid of fat I had good results doing cardio and I had good results doing bodyweight exercises but I had the best results when I included cardio and bodyweight exercises in my exercise routine.
Cardio exercises like bicycling, running, jumping rope, rollerblading, shadow boxing, tae bo, kayaking, and canoeing require a lot of energy and strong muscles. You might not feel your abs working but they are. When I started biking long distances I lost fat all over my body including my belly and my ab muscles became stronger. To work your abs and to burn more calories it is important that you balance and support yourself. Exercise bikes and a lot of exercise machines mostly take your abs out of the workout.
Strength exercises like push ups, pull ups and yoga are good for building muscle and they burn calories. Bodyweight exercises are often better for burning calories and strengthening your abs than using free weights or an exercise machine. They work more muscles. For better results pick strength exercises that use a lot of different muscles.
You could work your abs, chest, shoulders, back and biceps triceps doing push ups. When I was doing a push-ups, planks and pull-ups routine for a few weeks I lost inches of fat around my belly and my abs became much stronger. To work the abs more while doing pull ups lift your legs to form an L shape. To work the abs more while doing push-ups hold the raised position for a few seconds each time you push yourself up.
Tai chi and qigong are good exercises to do when you feel too tired to exercise. The don't burn a lot of calories but they burn some and they work your abs. They can also make you feel more relaxed and provide you with more energy. Reducing stress can reduce your junk food cravings and cause you to heal a little faster.
